Al-Duhailan: Professional work in the areas of decoration has become a community appreciation and the interest of the supporting bodies

The head of the Women’s Centers and Workshops Committee in the Asharqia Chamber, Shuaa Al-Duhailan, confirmed that professional manual work, especially in the areas of decoration and beautification, has overcome several obstacles that existed earlier, most notably the stereotypical view of society, as this activity has become financially feasible, as well as On the availability of means of support, guidance, and containment that support this trend.

This came during a workshop entitled "A profession of gold" directed at girls with hearing disabilities, organized (remotely) by the Women's Empowerment Center in Asharqia Chamber last Wednesday 23/6/2021 in cooperation with the Saudi Society for Hearing Impairment to transmit the workshop in sign language. Professional manual work in the field of decoration, in particular, is considered one of the permanent professions, as beautification is an innate condition for every female that continues with her until the end of life, and this profession does not start today and end tomorrow, but rather it continues, and whoever has the talent can transform from a worker in a workshop to a project owner in that matter.

She indicated that she was someone who took this path despite her scientific specialization in the field of English and her work in education for five years, and she made this decision and it was feasible, despite the great sacrifice in leaving the government job with a fixed salary.
She said that any manual labor generates a profitable amount of the bid through which it is made, not for the owner (or the owner of the project), but even the worker in any workshop or factory, if she is sincere and productive, the owner cannot dispense with her but will seek to increase her income through this work.
Al-Duhailan pointed out that manual work in the field of decoration faced several difficulties, most notably convincing people of the level of service, especially in the previous era, as there were no social media that highlight the beauty of the service. Promotion takes place through oral transmission between people, but over time, this obstacle has been overcome. Anyone who enters this field can easily reach customers.
The other obstacle - according to Al-Duhailan - is the difficulty of persuading people to this work issued by Saudi women, as we have lived for many years with all foreign workers working in this field, but over time people have also become convinced of what Saudi female workers offer, especially those with hearing disabilities, Those who have extraordinary talents.
From here, Al-Duhailan calls on all Saudi girls, especially those with hearing disabilities, to search within themselves to bring out talents, which may be very simple and ordinary, they may turn into a project, or into a registered trademark not on a local level but an international level, and we have many stories in this regard, To conclude by saying: "You have the skill, and it is your way to a better material and moral future."
In this regard, Al-Duhailan stresses that institutions are looking for women with skills primarily, with all appreciation for administrative work. Noting that talent, if it is found, needs to be refined, and it does not prevent talents from being integrated, as integration produces partnership, and partnership produces viable projects, especially since we have, thankfully, certain bodies that support such trends, and their support does not depend on the financial aspect only, but rather there is advisory and technical support.
At the end of the workshop, Al-Duhailan indicated that the local community viewed the hairdresser or the beautician with some inferiority, so that the term “hairdresser” became a kind of miniaturization, but this matter has ended, and every one of them is doing such work, claiming to be a “beautician expert.” Society no longer belittles such professions, but rather looks at those who work in them with respect and appreciation.
